About me
Thank you for taking the time to look over my profile. I am a qualified Integrative counsellor, with person centred as my core. I am registered with NCPS which means that I follow their ethics.
I have over 10 years experience of working with families, adults and children in a range of settings from schools, local government and charity work. I have always loved my work and feel that the most important thing is truly listening to someone and how they are feeling. To be able to give someone the space to be able to talk without judgement, and be accepted is so powerful! I feel that offering this space for someone really does empower them.
I understand that people come to counselling for loads of different reasons. I hope that I can offer a space for you to explore what you need to in a non judgemental and accepting environment. I aim to work with you to achieve a safe space for you to open up and talk openly and honestly.
I am very passionate about mental health and how important it is to look after yourself. Whilst working with families and training I identified that therapy can be expensive and unable to afford the fees. With this in mind I have offered a service to be able to reduce the fee. (please see website)
I have worked with a range of different clients on many different issues that they are facing. From depression, anxiety, low self-esteem/confidence, low self-worth, and relationship issues. I have experience in working with all forms of abuse and trauma. I have supported young people in different settings and able to use different ways to engage them into therapy.
If you would like to call or email to set up an initial session, please use the details included. In the session we will talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you wish to gain from counselling. If you wish to proceed, we can then set a date and time to talk again.
"Jess was a great counsellor. She helped me work through real situations and challenged me to think differently. She was kind and supportive. She gave me a chance to open lots of long closed boxes in a safe way and explore where some of my issues and problems are coming from. She presents a very real person who is easy to talk to."
