About me

I'm an integrative therapist committed to providing a natural, gentle, empathetic, professional, and safe space to all who come for therapy.

The human experience brings with it the inevitability of difficulty and challenge. Therapy is embedded in the very art of being human, and can be an empowering tool for overwhelming seasons. It can help us to remember, relocate or restore our incredible capacity for resilience in the face of life's challenges.

Training and Practice:
My psychotherapy and counselling training has included modalities such as: Person-Centred, CBT, Existential, Reality, Gestalt, and Psychodynamic.

The gift of integrative therapy is that the therapist has a wide and varied skill-set, allowing them to employ the particular modality or intervention which best suits an individual's current needs. This also allows space for a therapeutic approach to change or vary as the individual's needs evolve during the therapeutic process.

I have received specific training in working with: depression, anxiety, loss, grief, attachment wounds, identity and self-esteem, trauma, relational crises or family issues, receiving a new diagnosis (such as Autism or ADHD), facing a health diagnosis or illness (that may be your own, or perhaps that of a loved one), and challenges associated with long-term health conditions.

Why Counselling?
The difficulties and challenges that lead someone to seek out professional counselling are wide and varied. The complex challenges of life affect us all, whoever we are, and counselling is an empowering tool which can help us to process, cope, and even grow in these times.

While we never choose adversity, there is such hope in the ability humans have to cope, adapt and change in the face of it. Resilience is often the gift on the other side of challenges.

Collaboration, being client-led, and respecting the uniqueness and value of each individual is at the core of my practice.

I have received training with a Christian worldview but always have, and always will be fully open to working with people from all backgrounds and faiths.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
