About me
My name is Jennifer Levy and I am a Psychotherapist & Counsellor providing both short- and long-term therapy to adult individuals Psychotherapy & counselling sessions are facilitated online, using Zoom.
We all experience times of difficulty in our lives, when events or relationships feel overwhelming, or we can feel a loss of direction or purpose. Talking to a trained professional helps us make sense of those challenging times and offers a way through them, moving towards a better understanding of ourselves and our feelings.
I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of problems. As a fully-qualified Psychotherapist &Counsellor I am a member of the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapy, and Accredited by the UKCP. I abide by their code of ethics.
Making the decision to see a Counsellor is a big step to take – but it can be a positive one. Please read on to find out more about how I could help you.
What issues can Psychotherapy & Counselling help with?
People come to me for help a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:
Panic attacks
- Depression and Anxiety
- Stress
- Relationship problems
- Grief, loss or bereavement
- Problems with addiction
- Trauma and post-traumatic stress
- Abuse
- Problems with confidence or self-esteem
- Anger management
- Issues relating to sexuality
- Difficulties at work or in retirement
- Problems with family or school life
Life brings many challenges, and it is understandable that at times we might look for support in facing them. As a counsellor my role is to provide space and guidance to help you on your journey of self-discovery; to enable you to examine your life and make new, meaningful choices within it.
I offer a chance to reflect on the difficulties or problems you are experiencing in a safe and confidential environment, with someone from outside your day-to-day life. Together we can explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives – and perhaps a new understanding of yourself. Counselling isn’t about giving you solutions or advice, but empowering you to make your own changes.
My style of working is called Integrative. This involves utlising many different styles of practice, to work in a way that is built around your specific needs. The work is client centered- which means my job is to accompany you on your journey – offering guidance from a psychological perspective- towards what the founder of person-centered counselling, Carl Rogers, called ‘self-actualisation’. Person-centered work is focused on empathy, a non-judgemental approach and providing emotional support; everyone has a built-in motivation to reach for their full potential, but sometimes need a bit of support to get there!

About Jennifer Levy
My way of working is Integrative, and this means drawing upon a broad range of psychotherapy orientations and therapeutic ways of working. Sometimes this involves using creativity or dream work, to work with deep unconscious processes; other times Psychodynamic, or relational approaches might be more fitting.
My particular training was from a Humanistic, Transpersonal perspective which encourages the growth of a clients authentic Self at a very deep and spiritual level.
To say more about myself, I trained as a Psychotherapist at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE). Qualifying in 2011 and completing my Masters in 2012. Since then I have also completed an Advanced training in Psychotherapy in 2016, clinical training in EMDR and a post graduate diploma in Transpersonal Dream work. I worked in local authority organisations across London such as The Kingston Women’s Center and NHS hospitals & mental health departments, as well as the private sector, before going in to private practice in 2009.
Professionally I am also a Yoga and Meditation teacher, I teach yoga in a trauma informed way. I also I teach yoga workshops and courses on meditation practice for beginners. Along side this, I’m a practitioner of Ashtanga yoga, I enjoy reading most things philosophical and in particular around yoga philosophy.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
