About me
My passion as a counsellor is driven by watching my clients bloom when we build a trusting, safe, non judgmental relationship. I will never stop being amazed by just how powerful a therapeutic relationship can be and how that aids the client to heal. I have a genuine love for working alongside my clients to help them reach their personal goals, self acceptance, self awareness and help them to develop coping skills which will aid them for the rest of their life.
Feeling hopeless is a feeling which I have experienced myself, being trapped with your emotions and not knowing how to manage big and overwhelming feelings can be extremely daunting and scary but admitting that can be even harder. Throughout my life I have suffered with high amounts of anxiety and low self esteem, counselling helped me to understand and overcome these issues which at the time controlled my life. I believe my own personal battles with mental health and my own personal therapeutic journey has led me to be the warm, friendly compassionate person I am today. My own journey not only made me realise that everybody has the right to be listened to, understood and most importantly has the right to become the best version of themselves, for themselves!
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist who has worked with a range of ages but specialises in children and young people/ childhood trauma. I practice person centred theory and also use many creative interventions with my clients as I believe this can free us and enable us to work with our emotions and experiences on a much deeper & authentic level.
I have worked in a social, emotional and mental health school for the past 6 years delivering 1-1 counselling sessions and group therapy with students aged 6-17 who have a range of issues such as Autism, ADHD, ODD, OCD, Anxiety disorders, self-harming, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, learning difficulties, young carers and many more. I have also worked with the staff in the school on a 1-1 basis, in work discussion groups and conducted training around mental health issues. Alongside this, I have worked with parents of students who have mental health issues to help them manage their own emotions around their children’s diagnosis and help to build their relationships. I previously worked in private practice for 2 years offering psychotherapy to adults.
As Carl Rogers once said “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.” Lets process together.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
