About me

My name is Jayne. I am a fully qualified counsellor and I am very passionate about counselling.

I feel finding the correct therapist who meets your individual needs is both essential and important. I support individuals from all walks of life & I believe everyone should have equal opportunity to access professional help, support and guidance during their time of need.

Life can be challenging; there may be many times when we experience ‘problems with living’ making us feel lost, anxious, stressed or low, and feel we need that little bit of extra support. Are your feelings or thoughts troubling you and impacting on your relationship with others or your quality of life?

My aim is to provide a safe, comfortable, confidential space where you can learn more about yourself, make positive changes, increase your self-awareness and work towards the life you truly deserve.

I cater for in-person, telephone & online/video call sessions.
Due to the current economic climate experienced by many I am offering the first 6 sessions for a discounted rate of £25 for telephone face to face and online sessions.

An initial free 15 minute phone call is available to see if we are compatible and could work together.

I work with both short and long term clients.

Sessions are 50 minutes long.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Practice and I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and as such I comply with their ethical framework for good practice, which means I have regular ongoing supervision, continuing personal development and have counselling insurance.

I have gained a great deal of very valuable experience working within a hospice setting where I worked as a counsellor. In addition to this, I have also been involved in providing counselling support for NHS staff within one of Derbyshire's main hospitals. I have also worked with clients who have complex needs.

More recently I have worked as a counsellor engaging with children and teenagers within both school and home settings.

Within my work at the hospice, I have worked with clients who are suffering from chronic illness. If you are struggling with an illness, feeling isolated lost and lonely, we can work through your pain helping you to heal & adjust to a new way of living.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
