About me

I am an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist registered with the UKCP (United Kingdom of Psychotherapy) and a registered member with the BACP. I provide a service for individuals, couples, charities and organisations and EAPs.

I believe establishing a therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is paramount for the counselling process to progress. As you bring your issues and hopes to the sessions, I aim to provide the core conditions of respect, empathy and genuineness in a safe and confidential environment of my consulting room.

Please view my website as it may answer some questions or alternatively give me a call for a short chat to discuss your needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

In 2005 I completed a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy at Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham, which registered my qualification with the UKCP. I worked for two years as a case manager for an EAP( employment assistance programme) before concentrating on my private practice in Lincoln and Nottingham. I use my many years of experience in the business sector in the U.K. And Abroad and my varied counselling experience in the EAP sector, Doctor's surgeries, various charities and other organisations to help you.

To ensure safe practice I undergo monthly supervision and regular CPD as required by my professional bodies. I adhere to the ethical framework for good practice for the BACP and UKCP.

I work in a brief solution focussed manner and longer term approaches to help individuals in face to face sessions and occasionally by telephone.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Key details

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
