About me

Hi there! I'm Isaac and I am a Person-Centred Counsellor. For me, the most important part of the counselling relationship is being comfortable. For empathy to be felt and for the feelings to feel safe to be discussed, first we must build a relationship where you don't feel judged.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I work with the core belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to walk alongside you on your journey, offering empathy, acceptance, and unconditional positive regard. I trust in your ability to find your own answers and work towards living a more fulfilling and authentic life.

Our sessions will be guided by your needs and goals. Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, or simply feeling lost or stuck, I am here to help you reconnect with your inner strengths and values. Together, we will explore whatever you bring to the session, allowing you to reflect, gain insights, and make choices that feel right for you.

What I Offer:

-A warm and comfortable space where you can feel truly heard.
-A safe environment where you can express yourself without fear of judgment.
-Flexibility to work on the issues that matter most to you.
-An empathetic and compassionate approach that respects your pace and process.

The founder of Person-Centred Counselling, Carl Rogers, had a very simple analogy of humans. He spoke about how a live plant will fight to grow towards the light, no matter how dark the room it has been planted in. This is true of people too, that there is an innate desire to strive and to grow no matter how adverse the circumstances are. I hope to provide a counselling experience that finds this innate desire to grow to your full potential.

I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds, supporting them through a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, and relationship difficulties. My training in Person-Centred Counselling is complemented by continuous professional development and supervision, ensuring that I can offer the best possible support for you.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but I am here to support you every step of the way. If you would like to know more or arrange an initial session, please feel free to get in touch. We can have an informal chat to explore how I can help and see if my approach feels right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
