About me

I am a supportive and empathic listener and observer for my clients, throughout times of distress, confusion, loss and despair. The relationship between me and my clients is based on trust, honesty and respect, and this is at the very heart of my counselling.

I work with adults in a person-centred way, which means I am with my clients as a fellow human being, rather than an 'expert', and my clients can explore their emotions and relationships in their own way, at their own pace. Counselling of this kind can bring about real personal growth as clients gain insight into themselves, in a safe, non-judgemental space, without being told what to do.

What to expect: I work both in indoors and outdoors. I use natural spaces to do walk and talk sessions where I find the presence of nature and the element of movement can really help you process and reflect on what you are going through. I also work from traditional indoor therapy rooms, as well as online or on the telephone and am happy to accommodate your individual needs.

How I can help: I have experience of working with clients with anxiety, long-term medical conditions, depression, despair, loss and relationships issues. I regularly attend continued professional development training courses to further expand my experience and develop my awareness and practice. I am also an Embodied Psychotherapist, which means I can help you work through emotions stored in your body, which can be especially helpful if you find it hard to talk and open up.

Get in touch: To find out more, or to book an initial consultation please email me, or call/text me on 07868 616374 and I will aim to respond within 24-48 hours.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

I have taught counselling skills from Introductory through to Diploma qualification level for 3 years and am well placed to work with students both as a therapist or a supervisor.

I gained my Certificate in Embodied Psychotherapy from The Institute of Embodied Psychotherapy (https://www.embodiedpsychotherapy.org.uk/) and build this in to my counselling and supervision work, according to individual needs and preferences.

My in-person practice is based in the peaceful countryside near Omagh in Co Tyrone, N Ireland, and I can also offer outdoor sessions, as well as phone and video calls.
