About me

I offer face to face, phone or zoom sessions and am open to working with people from any geographical area online. My therapy room is situated in Llanidloes Powys

We are living through extraordinary times. The last years have thrown up all sorts of challenges and difficulties.

If you are feeling anxious, suffering low mood and feelings of overwhelm, believe me - you are not alone.

It's amazing how much the human spirit can take, but these recent years there have been all sorts of extra pressures to contend with both in our immediate lives and the world at large and this has had huge impact on our mental and emotional health.

You may have found your stress levels, anxiety levels or sense of 'not coping' have gone through the roof. Old habits and patterns from the past might have reared their head and are causing you pain and confusion.

I am an Integrative Psychotherapeutic practitioner and I work to support people to understand more about what they are experiencing through a safely contained creative process.

I offer sessions which work to enable a connection to a 'deeper knowing'', of what you might be finding challenging or want to change in your life and this process can support you to develop a more vital and resilient way of being in the world.

I also work relationally which means we are in a dialogue together, I will offer you concepts and reflections which enable an opportunity to clarify what is troubling you and find meaning through these challenges.

Most people say that the most powerful aspect of their counselling process was having been heard, validated and witnessed without any pressure to be anything other than where they are in themselves -this moment.

It is my job to connect to what is most meaningful and useful for you within a confidential and nourishing space.

I work to meet you where you are and everyone's process is unique- just as we are all unique.

I will work to support you towards finding balance and wellbeing by feeling met and heard. This process offers the opportunity to develop personal resources towards a more fulfilling and nourishing life.

Alongside my private practice I work part time with the NHS Powys and offer various arts and nature based wellbeing groups. Check my website for further information.

Warmly

Hazel

Training, qualifications & experience

I studied with ReVision Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy in London gaining a diploma is Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapeutic Counselling which means I integrate different theoretical teachings and tools which offer rich perspectives to support our work together.

My work is fundamentally a talking therapy & can include creative exploration and nature therapy if this suits you/ or you are interested to work this way.

Our processes can also include image & dream work, writing, drawing (mark making), chair work and embodiment work, expressive arts, creative or nature activities to enable a connection to a deeper sense of your unconscious world &  offering perspectives which are meaningful to you.

Every person is different. Every process is different.

We will explore and navigate this process together.

You are welcome and encouraged to bring any dreams to our sessions. These can gain precious insight into your inner world.

If you prefer nature therapy (wild therapy/eco psychotherapy) exploration. We can discuss this. I have worked in green spaces near Machynlleth, Llanidloes and Newtown offering this aspect of therapy.

It is fine to vary our work between indoor, online or in nature sessions. We can arrange this as we go along.

A transpersonal approach means we hold a sense of the 'bigger picture' of life looking to make some meaning from its challenges. You might want to consider what you yearn for, or what you might feel calling you.

I run various wellbeing workshops and events throughout the year and you can find out more all of my services on my website.

If you would like to speak with me about options, I offer a free 20min call, so please get in touch if you would like.

Warm wishes

Hazel

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
