About me

Hi I am Hazel,

I realise choosing a counsellor can be daunting and choosing the right one for you I believe is extremely important, so here is a bit about me.

I am a counsellor with eight years of experience and am also a qualified supervisor. I provide an integrative counselling style, this type of counselling draws on different techniques from different styles of counselling, this enables me to tailor my approach to meet the needs of each client.

I provide a safe and quiet pIace to talk and reflect without judgement or bias. In my counselling sessions I work in a creative way which can help clients express emotions and feelings when words cannot be found. I work with both adults and teenagers and have previously worked in schools.

Counselling is a place you can be heard, allowing time for you to work through, explore and understand your issues and problems enabling you to move forward and grow.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) to their ethical code.

Training, qualifications & experience

Degree in counselling, Supervisor Training, Safeguarding Training.

I have been a counsellor for 8 years during this time I have worked with adults, teenagers and children. For the past 8 years I have worked with people with a various range of issues such as abuse, childhood issues, anxiety, addiction, and bereavement. My work has also enabled me to work with children in middle and high schools.

I am also in the process of becoming a couples counsellor and also planning a relationship workshop.

I qualified as a supervisor in 2021.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
