About me

Hi I'm Hazel I am a fully qualified, experienced BACP registered counsellor and supervisor. I have had extensive experience working with abuse, childhood trauma and relationship issues. I also work with low mood, anxiety and loneliness. I offer a private and friendly setting for clients to talk though their issues without any judgement or bias.

As an integrative counsellor, which means I can tailor my approach to suit each individual client, I can work creatively which can be beneficial to those who find it hard expressing how they feel.

For example do you have something from in the past that is still bothering you and you cannot move on from or are you struggling now in the present? My goal is to help support you through and overcome these problems, enabling you to move on and grow.

Finding the right counsellor for you is very important so I offer a free introductory phone call to discuss your own personal goals from therapy. I am based in Whitley Bay, I offer 50 minute face to face counselling sessions but I also work remotely as I know life can be busy.

I am a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and also The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
