About me

Finding the courage to seek help is such a brave step and one I would like to take with you.  I can offer you a calm, confidential and safe space where you will be listened to.  I feel it is important to provide a place where you feel comfortable to explore your feelings and emotions.  Talking freely with someone you can trust and be yourself is crucial in your therapeutic journey.

About me
I am warm, approachable and non-judgemental.  I believe everybody deserves a chance to be heard, understood and valued for who they are.

My training as an integrative counsellor means I can work with you to find the best theoretical approach to suit your needs ensuring you get as much out of your sessions as possible.  I combine elements of Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA) and Psychodynamic Theory.

I work across various difficulties and mental health conditions including family conflict, managing stress, anxiety, depression, low mood, feelings of being overwhelmed, intrusive thoughts, relationship issues, domestic abuse, self-esteem, life transitions, infertility, grief and bereavement.

I have worked in education for over twenty-five years and I have seen hundreds of children grow in confidence, self-esteem and self-awareness.  I am the Senior Mental Health Lead in a school and I have experience of working alongside parents providing support during difficult family circumstances and through the pressures that everyday life can bring.  I have also worked as a school counsellor in a Secondary School working with a range of young people.

I am also passionate about working with teachers as I am fully aware of the pressures and demands of teaching in today’s world.  Having a counsellor who understands the educational profession is essential.

Alongside my private practice I currently work for a charity who specialises supporting the emotional safety of men and those they care about.

I can offer short or long-term counselling depending on your needs.
I work with adults and young people.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
