About me
I am passionate about helping people find the best way forward in their lives, and we offer the very best in counselling to that end. I am not a counsellor who just sits back and listens - I play an active part in therapy, challenging you, taking you on a journey of guided discovery, exploring your past and how it shows up in the present.
We all have it within ourselves to solve our problems, but sometimes need help to find and explore our inner resources. We are all individuals, and what works for one person may not work for another. I am flexible and pragmatic, collaborating with you to meet your needs; to go where you want to go to make your life better, and the modern methods we use will get you there more quickly than other methods will.
We understand how all of us are troubled at times and sometimes need help to resolve issues that if left might lead to problems that overwhelm us later. If you need to reach out for help and support, we offer a warm, safe, empathic and non-judgemental space to explore what you wish to talk about. Please call us for a free and confidential chat.
I am a very experienced counsellor and supervisor working online, so you can enjoy counselling from the comfort of your own home or on the move and save travel time and expense. As an integrative counsellor, I draw from many disciplines to ensure I can offer counselling of sufficient flexibility to meet your needs. I work with people of all ages. I love working with students, where I have had a great deal of success; I have an interest in men's issues and a passion for working with those suffering or surviving from abuse (physical; emotional; sexual) and the residues of trauma. I work with couples and others in relationships who have lost their way and need help to move ahead. I have a sensitive blame-free approach to relationship, family and couple counselling, emphasising the need for collaboration and teamwork, rather than finding fault with individuals members of the relationship. Experience tells me that this is essential in making sustainable change, building skills, understanding and attitudes that will last.
But counselling is about what you need, and I will do everything to find the best way to help you to get where you want to be in your life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have both a Professional and an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and an Advanced Certificate in Couples Counselling as well as being a qualified counselling supervisor. I also have a qualification in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and advanced training in trauma therapy, memory reconsolidation and so on. I offer specialised treatment for trauma of all kinds.
I have broad experience across all age groups, in particular with students, with men and with sufferers and survivors of domestic and other forms of abuse. I have a great deal of experience with couples and family counselling.
I am an integrated counsellor, making use of different approaches (e.g., person centred, psychodynamic, object relations, transactional analysis, CBT, IFS, EMDR, ACT and DBT, trauma and neuroscience) within an integrated framework in order to meet specific client needs in the best way possible.
Having taken specialised training in online and other remote forms of counselling in addition to my original qualification in face-to-face working, I am now offering specialised online counselling and psychotherapy to clients who prefer to be in the comfort of their own homes across the world. And for those who doubt whether online works, let me reassure you - it works splendidly. Why not try a free session?

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
