About me

Hello ..

I am a mature private Psychotherapist, offering many years of professional intervention within the NHS, Rape Crisis Centres, Mental Health services and Work-based settings, supporting clients challenged by complex mental health, traumas, difficult patterns of behaviour, grief & loss, anxieties, emotional dysregulation, impacts of high control religion, relationships, and long-term depressive states.

Being a Practitioner of this experience has been very influential in the application of my work with clients, and in bringing the diversity of skills required to achieve their outcome and the quality of their therapeutic experience, I integrate both a directive and non-directive structure in my practice.

I offer you therapeutic services In person (Alderley Edge & Manchester), Online and Telephone, meeting the flexibility clients require to access a platform suitable to their needs.  Whether your choice is to address an isolated matter, a combination of influencing factors, or an historic unresolved locked in trauma, together we will address these patterns with thoroughness, and authenticity

Selecting the right support is essential in achieving the outcome you search for, this relationship is a fundamental part in supporting how you move through and grow forward with those changes you wish to make.  An initial session with me is offered as a Consultation, from which we are able to learn more about each other and our therapy journey together, before continuing further.

There are no limits to how you can connect with me, directly or via the Counselling Directory, though for a more reliable source of enquiry and securing my response, I do invite WhatsApp or Text 07766200100 (It would be most helpful to know your choice of engagement for therapy, and of the location, should you prefer In Person

Please see fees for what I can support during Feb/Mar 2025

I hope my profile has provided you with a brief introduction to me, my experience, and the type of client presentations I support in my practice..

Kindest regards

Donna                                                                                                                       “Therapy for the right now, and the long-term”

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
