Government guidelines continue to change, surrounding COVID-19, to which I and the environments that I work adhere to the ethical guidelines for the safety and well-being of those entering said environments for Counselling/Psychotherapy sessions.
Whilst I will respect your chosen interaction for therapy (face to face/online/telephone) I shall follow the recommendations of my professional governing body, as a positive guidance when arranging sessions with a new client.
Staying emotionally and psychologically safe, are just as important as your physical safety in these surreal times ..
As a Counsellor/Psychotherapist, my 13 years experience is represented across the Public; Government; Private and Charitable sectors, supporting clients with both clear-cut and complex presentations.
Addressing what's unhelpful can be uncomfortable, so providing the right atmosphere and therapeutic relationship to meet your needs is important to my philosophy and intention to the work we do together. The underpinning of my training lies a client centred approach. The style in which I engage is diverse and liberal, seeking to work at depth with a client's need. My practice provides approaches to meet 'What's needed right now' and 'For the long term'. I use skills developed from various methodologies such as, Person Centred Therapy, Trauma Focused Approaches, Inner Child Therapy, Brief Invention Work, Core Transformation, Visualisation and Reprocessing ..
Whether your need for therapy is to address a work related stress, anxiety disorder, self-esteem issue, bereavement, relationship matter, post traumatic stress disorder or a harmful behaviour, my approach is to support and assist the client’s understanding, making sense of how to move forward, thrive, become their own counsel and realise what they want.
Alongside my independent Private Practice based in Manchester, I am a therapist in a specialised Women’s only Rape Crisis service, I act as an Affiliate Counsellor for EAP services, and within an NHS Trust I am an independent Counsellor/Psychotherapist, uniquely providing support to staff. I am a listed qualified practitioner of Parks Inner Child Therapy Quick Change Model, an unobtrusive directed approach to lasting change therapy. (please read below for more insight)
The work of talking therapy isn’t without challenge, so I respect that starting the process can be uneasy. The journey needs to be thought through and has to be right for you, as this relationship is a very important one.
Sometimes I am unable to receive a call, though please do leave a message and I will get back to you, alternatively I recommend contacting me via text or email, from this, I will arrange with you a comfortable time for us to have a telephone conversation.
'What's needed right now and for the long term’ ™ DEAP
Kind regards
Donna
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Therapy approaches I deliver ..
Inner Child Therapy
Parks Inner Child Therapy
A stand-alone model of therapy providing an unobtrusive approach to lasting change, primarily formulated to address abuse in childhood, though leans itself well to understanding negative behaviours and crippling limiting beliefs born from unhealthy relationships. For those who may not seek the full model, this approach also allows for isolated matters to be addressed, such as Abortion, Miscarriage, Anger, Grief. Session durations are 1.5 - 4hrs (assessment required for full model)
PICT sits inside my therapeutic philosophy in supporting the person to be the best they can be for themselves, focusing on observing, repairing and restructuring ‘out of date’ hurts/information for the outcome of a more informed and assertive you, which it executes using a non-intrusive methodology - PICT frees us from unpleasant past events.
With an increased public awareness of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's), being a qualified PICT QC Practitioner, delivering the PICT model has become a significant part of my practice.
This approach requires an initial assessment to support which pathway is appropriate for the client. There are no sliding scale fees on the 1.5hr session pathway, although PICT ‘Quick Change’ is offered from a 9 week intervention to the intensive 5 day model, varying fees apply.
Seeking a single interaction:
Single-Session Therapy (as named by Windy Dryden)
A swift pathway to gaining help at the point of need (3 separate interactions including Telephone and Face2Face)
Short term/longer term Counselling/Psychotherapy
Face to Face/Telephone Therapy/Online
Sessions are underpinned in a person centred philosophy of humanistic therapy, though take an integrative and individualised theme to meet the needs of the client. (the therapeutic hour is 60 minutes)
Face to Face interactions will continue as long as is possible
Online is via Zoom
Telephone - I will call you ..
stay safe, and if you can - keep communicating to someone, somewhere and somehow!

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
