Why work with me? - Clients often describe me as extremely warm, understanding, open and easy to talk to, and able to challenge when helpful to do so. At the same time, I am pragmatic, clear, and work with where you find yourself today in order to agree realistic goals for our work together.
I take great care to balance the practical active work with the need to explore your story with you so that any outcomes are meaningful as well as sustainable for you.
Your ‘feel’ for your therapist is such an important part of your ability to ‘go there’ and work together so bear that in mind when seeking a match. I have a few testimonials on my website if you'd like to take a look?
Our sessions together
These are your private space where you can explore what's coming up for you and your uncomfortable feelings in a way that is rarely possible with friends, partners or family. For those of you new to therapy, I am not there to judge or to give advice but to capture and hold up a mirror so we can then understand and begin to remedy your difficulties. We'll have regular reviews of our work together returning to your best hopes and agreed goals for the work.
I am happy to offer an initial one-off session for online for - especially for those who are unsure if it will feel comfortable. I am a real advocate for the flexibility and effectiveness of this medium as long as you have a private space and good enough internet connection of course!
You can learn more about my approach if you'd like to on my website.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
