About me

As a qualified counselling therapist with over 12 years experience and a Centre Manager for an established counselling centre in London, I have the expertise to support you with your troubling issue. 1-2-1 Taking Care of You believes talking therapy can be restorative, supportive and effective. This has been evidenced before me as I have seen fundamental changes in individuals I work with.

My clients have worked on a wide range of troubling issues. I support all of my clients in a manner which is honest, calm, empathetic and compassionate. You will receive a non-judgemental, confidential, safe space in which to talk. We will work collaboratively to find a way forward that is more productive and less destructive.

Counselling sessions are offered on an open ended basis, this allows you, the client, time and space to explore your troubling issues. Having worked in a busy NHS doctor's practice where sessions were limited, I recognised the need to empower my clients by making decisions together when therapy pauses or ends.

Individuals often plough through life without taking the time to pause and reflect. Often a difficult childhood, an abusive relationship or simply stresses at work can affect one's ability to cope with the day to day challenges of life. Your low mood and anxiety might be triggered by...I'll let you finish the sentence. Whatever your triggers are I'm here to support you.

Let's work together and start Taking Care of You!

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified as a Counselling Therapist in 2013 with a Masters Degree in Therapeutic Counselling. Prior to this, I worked as a teacher and I hold a degree in Social Sciences and a PGCE teaching qualification. I currently manage a counselling service and I have my own private practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
