About me

When you are looking for therapy, finding the right therapist is the most important step. I qualified as a Person Centred Counsellor in 2008.

Working from my own therapy room which I have designed with you, the client,  in mind, I have created a space that is calm, warm, welcoming and safe.  I offer a confidential, compassionate and friendly approach to therapy. You will feel safe to explore feelings in a non judgemental, empathic environment.

I offer a safe therapeutic space for people who want to understand themselves on a deeper level, manage negative thoughts and feelings or who might use therapy as an ongoing way to maintain their happiness and well-being.

It is not always easy to face difficulties and find ways to resolve them. The therapeutic journey will help you find ways to understand yourself that will bring about the changes which then help you to be positive, fulfilled and able to manage your own way of being.

The therapeutic process can help you to grow in times of anxiety and uncertainty. I have studied many differing modalities over the years and use an approach that includes aspects of these within my practice including solution focused, trauma informed,  maintaining a person centred approach at the heart of all I do, putting you at the centre of the therapeutic journey.

I have worked with people of all ages, from different backgrounds and cultures, each with their own individual experiences.

I offer ongoing support, short and long term and motivational sessions. These take place at times to suit you, weekly through to monthly sessions. When you contact me we can talk about the therapeutic approach that will work for you.

A person approaches counselling for many reasons, I work with people who may be experiencing, or have experienced:

Anxiety, stress, ACE's (Adverse Childhood Experiences) low mood, depression, low self confidence and self esteem, difficulty talking about and expressing feelings and emotions, life changes, grief and loss, PTSD and many more issues that people experience in life.

We will work at a pace set by you and with whatever you would like to bring to your sessions. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Please email or book a call back and we can talk through any questions you may have for me.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
