About me

I recognise that many of us will have periods in our lives where as the result of everyday stress, trauma, loss or anxiety our ability to process, manage and cope will be significantly impacted or reduced. At such times it can be helpful to be able to talk to someone who is able to listen, connect and empathise. Working authentically in this way can help as a way of enhancing awareness, understanding and managing these concerns.

As an inclusive counsellor I welcome all clients including those who may have differing racial, religious, ethnic, gender, sexuality and neurodiverse backgrounds.  I have experience of working with both adults and young people covering areas including anxiety, trauma, loss and bereavement,  relationship concerns, eating disorders, bullying, stress, self harm, mental health and self-esteem/self-confidence issues.

As a qualified integrative counsellor I work with you, the client in a non-judgemental, supportive way by placing you at the heart of the therapeutic relationship.  Recognising the need for you to explore and process in your own way and at a pace that is right for you.

I am able to offer both short and long term counselling sessions via Zoom, telephone or in person in St. Neots throughout the week, including evenings.  All sessions are strictly confidential.

If you feel that counselling could help you to explore, process and understand what you are experiencing, please contact me.

As a Registered Member of the BACP, I adhere to their Ethical Framework and professional standards.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications are shown below:

  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

I have completed training as a Safeguarding Officer, Domestic Abuse Lead and hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate.   In addition I have completed and passed the training for Cruse Bereavement Support and worked for them as a volunteer.

I undergo continuing professional development to ensure that I am able to fully support clients with a range of issues and concerns.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
