About me

Hello, my name is Dan Entwisle. I bring not only my academic qualifications as a therapist to the counselling room but also my experience from my previous career. As an integrative therapist and counsellor, I'm ready to guide you on your personal path to wellbeing. My style is informal and welcoming.

One of my recent clients had this to say about our sessions: "I've been using Dan for 3 sessions now and can't believe the results. I had been seeing another therapist for 6 months and didn't feel much progress, so I found Dan! He's helped my mental state so much by giving me the tools to progress with self-development. My anxieties and insecurities are now manageable. I feel I can control myself more in situations."

My career history underscores my adaptability and depth of insight. My previous role as a broadcaster has seamlessly woven into my current role as an integrative therapist, allowing me to approach therapy with a distinct perspective rooted in the belief that each individual is unique. I believe your therapy should reflect that uniqueness.

I offer a range of therapeutic modalities, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gestalt Therapy, all designed to meet your specific needs. As one client explained, I work with you to get to the heart of the issue: "Dan helped me get to the cause of my difficulty and helped me devise some strategies to best manage these moving forward."

My experience equips me with the ability to provide not just counseling but also mentoring and practical support. This unique combination enables you to navigate the complexities of mental wellness with precision and insight. Another client who had several CBT sessions with me shared this: "Dan helped me correct some errors in my thinking, especially in regard to feelings of guilt."

Drawing from my past work with organizations such as the Royal Navy and NATO, I have a deep-seated interest in the mental wellbeing of military personnel. I've worked with command teams at 2 star level and advised in boardroom settings, lending my expertise to individuals and larger groups or organisations.

When signing off after several months of therapy, one client summed up their experience like this: "Dan is classy and professional. 4.9 stars, only for the reason that I've always found 5-star reviews to be suspicious. Give him a try!"

So, if you think that you and I would be a good fit for therapy, then why not give me a try?  Get in touch to arrange your first session. I really look forward to meeting you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I work with members of the armed forces, particularly in the area of change management.

This is particularly important to service personnel who have reached high non-commissioned rank or commissioned rank and who are now working in the civilian world or who are retired.

I also work with senior executives helping them navigate changes in career and transitioning to new roles.

Fees

£60.00 per session

Further information

I aim to offer an approachable means of getting therapy. You can book as many or as few sessions as you like, from several sessions per week through to weekly or monthly sessions, or even the occasional "check-in" with me.

I offer a full hour of therapy per session and am able to extend this to double sessions if required.

Importantly, I am not a clock watcher, so if a session takes a little longer than planned, and if I have no appointments immediately following yours, I can often incorporate a bit of flexibility to the length of a session.

I also have access to a large collection of written resources that I like to give my clients where appropriate.
