About me

Are you feeling overwhelmed by modern day life? Turning to self-sabotaging behaviours as a way of coping? Life can be challenging, things do not always work out the way we may have planned with everyday issues and stresses easily becoming unmanageable. We all need support at some point in our lives to overcome problems, counselling can provide clarity and guidance as together we can explore whatever may be troubling you.

Given the right conditions, I believe that a person can reach their full potential and become their true self. During the counselling relationship I will encourage you to bring your own issues to the session, I will help you to navigate these issues, feelings, beliefs and behaviours, and in doing so you will gain self awareness and independence.

I know that reaching out can feel daunting, I have been here myself which is why I will do my upmost to offer you my genuine understanding, openness and respect. I place great importance in ensuring that my clients are made to feel comfortable in my presence by providing a safe, secure and non-judgmental environment.

Although I am from a predominantly person-centred background, I recognise the paradox of clients wanting some form of guidance and direction. My integrative style allows me to adapt in accordance with your needs. There is no one size fits all when it comes to therapy, different people benefit from different models at different times. I recognise each person as unique and aim to be fluid and responsive to that by combing techniques.

I have a special interest in inner child work and attachment. Inner child work involves connecting with younger versions of ourselves and offering compassion to combat any unwanted feelings such as shame & guilt and to create a sense of wholeness. Attachment refers to how we show up across our interpersonal relationships. Experienced working with non traditional relationships (ENM/ Polyamory ect.)

I offer a free telephone consultation of up to 20 minutes where we can discuss your needs and establish if we are suitable to work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
