About me

I am an experienced fully qualified person-centred counsellor, with experience of working with adults, children, and young people. I have specific experience and additional training in working with clients who have experienced trauma, domestic abuse as well as bereavement and loss. I work with a broad range of issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, post-traumatic stress, OCD, and more.

I offer a compassionate and confidential space in which to support you in finding your own way forward in coping with any challenges or difficulties you may be experiencing. Experiencing trauma can affect everyone differently. You might feel scared, anxious, angry, disappointed, ashamed, all-consuming loneliness, or all of these and more. Your story is unique to you, and we work at your pace, not mine.

Training, qualifications & experience

In addition to working in private practice, I also work as a counsellor and suicide liaison worker for a BACP registered charity offering support for anyone affected by suicide, bereavement and domestic abuse. I have previously volunteered for an Oxfordshire school working with children and young people experiencing mental health problems such as anxiety, OCD depression, and eating disorders.

I have previously worked with adults for a Wiltshire charity working with a broad range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and trauma, both long and short-term.

My experience working with clients in these settings has been diverse and rich, which has given me a thorough understanding of human nature and people's ability to change.

I am fully insured, have a full DBS check and am a registered member of the BACP number 00970267

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
