About me

If you are struggling with overwhelming feelings of anxiety, depression, or have experienced trauma in adulthood or childhood, you don't have to manage how you are feeling alone. Reach out to me and we can work together to make sense of what you're experiencing.

It can feel impossible to know where to begin on your own. Your problems might be impacting your relationships with others. Take a deep breath, let it out slowly, send the email or make the call, let’s get started…

I am an experienced integrative counsellor, clinical supervisor, and work as a psychotherapist within an occupational health organisation. I work with adults using a number of approaches hell you to explore. I combine the following approaches person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution focused, transactional analysis, and compassion focused therapy (CFT), a combination of models of therapy can cater to a wide range of issues.

When we are anxious about something, our minds remember other stressful or traumatic times in our life which makes the anxiety worse, we can’t relax and a vicious cycle begins of recreating those old feelings. Some people know exactly what creates their difficult feelings, others have no idea and that’s ok! We can work together to make sense of things.

I am trained to really hear you. I won’t judge you. I will give you a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings. Whatever the issues that are holding you back from living a happy and fulfilling life might be, such as: anxiety, addiction, depression, low self-esteem, abuse, bereavement, relationship or family problems, feeling sad, lonely, low mood, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anger, phobias, confidence, lack of resilience, self-harm, pregnancy loss, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and more; we can address through increased self-awareness and by learning new strategies and techniques to better uderstand what's going on for you.

I adopt a warm, honest, and respectful approach to my work, your confidentiality is always of paramount importance. We will work together to build a professional relationship.

I am a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I am bound by its ethical framework for good practice.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
