About me

As a relational, integrative therapist, both therapy and supervision are tailored to meet the needs of the individual and is client lead.

I am an integratively trained therapist and supervisor, working in both private practice and the community sector. My main offices are in Crumlin & Ballinderry but I also see clients/supervisees in Antrim.

After qualifying as a counsellor in 2010 I continued on and gained the full BSc (Hons) Professional Development in Counselling and then completed my CPCAB Level 6 in Counselling Supervision.

I have a special interest in trauma and eating disorders, disordered eating and emotional eating, in particular the links between over eating and trauma. To consolidate this knowledge and further upskill, i have trained in DBT & RO-DBT for eating disorders.

I have completed an accredited certificate in couples therapy to consolidate the knowledge I learnt in my systemic training which i undertook through Queen's University. I now have a few spaces available specifically for couples to engage in therapy.

I offer appointments in the daytime, evenings and weekends to fit around busy family lives.

I am a senior accredited member of the NCS, a registered member of the BACP and a registered student member of COSRT. I am also on the Ulster University list as a recognised supervisor.

Tailored and Client-Lead Approach

As a relational, integrative therapist, I believe in providing therapy and supervision that is tailored to meet your unique needs. I work collaboratively with you, creating a safe and supportive space to explore your concerns and empower you on your journey towards healing and growth.

Experience and Qualifications

With over 13 years of experience as a qualified therapist, and 15 years working with clients I hold a Dip. H.E in Counselling, BSc (Hons) Professional Development in Counselling and a CPCAB Level 6 in Counselling Supervision.

I specialise in trauma, psychosexual presentations, eating disorders, disordered eating, and emotional eating, with a keen interest in the connections between overeating and trauma. To further enhance my expertise, I have trained in DBT & RO-DBT for eating disorders.

Couples Therapy Spaces Available

I have completed an accredited certificate in couples therapy, consolidating my systemic training from Queen's University. I am excited to announce that I now have a few spaces specifically reserved for couples seeking therapy. If you and your partner are looking to enhance your relationship and deepen your connection, I am here to support you.

🌈 Expanding Expertise: Psychosexual Psychotherapy 🌈

Continuing my dedication to professional development, I have embarked on a two-year diploma course in contemporary clinical sexology to become a psychosexual psychotherapist. I am currently working with clients facing various psychosexual challenges, including vaginismus, low sexual desire, pain, premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, and other sexual function issues.

⏰ Flexible Appointments to Suit Your Schedule ⏰

I understand the demands of busy family lives, which is why I offer appointments during the daytime, evenings, and weekends. This ensures you can prioritize your mental health and well-being without sacrificing other commitments.

🔒 Recognised Supervisor and Accredited Memberships 🔒

I am proud to be on the Ulster University list as a recognised supervisor. Additionally, I am a senior accredited member of the NCS (National Counselling Society), a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), and a registered student member of COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists).

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
