About me

Life is not always a smooth ride, is it? Sometimes it feels like we’re on a rollercoaster we never signed up for. I’m talking about the days when everything feels overwhelming, confusing, and messy. Maybe it’s the weight of past painful experiences, the stress of current relationships, or the never-ending battle with anxiety and depression. Many of us grew up being told to “push through” and “be strong”, but what if there’s another way… a kinder and more productive way to navigate these challenges.

I’m here to tell you that no matter how big or small your challenges are, there’s space for you here. In my therapy room, it’s us against the problem. You bring your life story – the ups, the downs, and everything in between – and I bring lots of tools, insights, empathy and unconditional acceptance.

This is a judgment-free zone. I won’t tell you how to live your life, instead I’ll walk beside you and help you make sense of the road you’ve been on. Our journey together may involve exploring and healing old wounds, changing unhelpful behaviours, building and nurturing healthier relationships, or simply making your day-to-day life a little bit easier and brighter. Whatever it is - I hope we can do it together.

We may laugh, we may cry, but most importantly we'll find a new way of being. You're not broken, you already have the inner strength to navigate life's difficulties. Sometimes all we need is a little guidance, support, and a reminder that our stories are worth telling.

Your feelings are valid. Your voice matters. Your story deserves to be heard.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am dedicated to my own personal development and growth - this means that I also work through the same things that my clients are working through.  I integrate what I have learned into my work as a therapist.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, which is why I am trained in multiple modalities, therefore giving me a wide variety of theories and tools I can use depending on the presenting problem.

I have experience working with a range of issues (see full list below), however my main areas of expertise are:

  • Childhood and family issues
  • Emotional neglect
  • Relationship issues (with self and others)
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Stress and burnout
  • Loneliness, people-pleasing and perfectionism

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

My integrative therapy approach

I believe that no single theory or approach can treat everybody. This is why I have chosen to work with multiple approaches, each complimenting the other in the therapy process.

Psychodynamic - The foundation of my practice is built upon psychodynamic theories and methods. This involves working with the unconscious, your childhood and past, attachment styles, and more.

Cognitive-Behavioural - The next level of my approach integrates CBT. It can often help challenge negative thinking, and bridge the gap between thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Humanistic - I have implemented aspects of Transactional Analysis, Solution-Focused and Gestalt and Therapies. They can provide further invaluable insight and help bring about change.

Neuroscience - Our remarkable and mysterious brains hide a lot of secrets which can reduce stigma around mental illness and provide explanations as to why we do the things we do.
