About us

There has always been a long-held and recognised need to provide more affordable support for the Black community. The community needs to maintain the facets that keeps it proactive and maintained its integrity. Positive allyship - working and living alongside diverse communities - is enhanced by improving access to an empowering and enriching experience of counselling and psychotherapy.

Our professional counsellors have an integrative approach to counselling, using a wide variety of therapeutic skills and tools accompanying their own lived experience and understanding as Black people. This is a service run by Black professionals for Black people.

Each individual has different needs and as such a combination of therapeutic tools will be available to support the client's needs and circumstances.

BEES currently provides an online service which is a confidential safe space. BEES is specifically designed to offer an opportunity for you to be heard. There is no expectation or judgement, except for your right to focus on yourself and the issues in your life.

Challenges may arise through different life scenarios including family, work or peer relationships; some may impact on home life or vice versa. You may decide that it is simply time to review where you are in life.

Intergenerational trauma, intersectionalism, racism and discrimination may also sit alongside these issues - cultural cognisance and understanding are therefore vital.

Our team of qualified psychotherapists and counsellors have extensive experience gained in various sectors - this only serves to enhance BEES's offer to you.

Blockages, internal or external, can lead to stagnation, lower self-esteem or create dilemmas and uncertainty. All of these factors have the potential to cause stress, anxiety, depression and a myriad of effects that are difficult to identify, work through or resolve. BEES will support you in working with and through the issues you bring, at your own pace.

The emotional, mental, physical and spiritual aspects of each individual do not sit in isolation from each other and you will be surprised by the impact of self-exploration in a safe and confidential therapeutic environment.

Training, qualifications & experience

Founder of Counselling E2E Counselling London Ltd and an Accredited Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have lived experience managing various services in charitable organisations, which adds to a holistic and non-judgemental viewpoint. 'Life' affects everyone.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, MBACP and as such I work within the BACP Ethical Framework and adhere to the Professional Conduct Procedures.

Qualification: PG Dip, Psychodynamic Marital & Couple Therapy, 1995

As the CEO & Founder having worked with individuals for a number of years, I thoroughly enjoy my work as a counselling professional and I remain committed to continuing my professional development to inform my work with clients. I initially trained as a counsellor to develop a better understanding of myself, family and relationships. Becoming a qualified Marital and Couples Counsellor enhanced my ability to work with individuals and couples.

Working for and with both private and charitable organisations has expanded my experience, leading to the development of BEES.

The BEES Team comprises equally qualified and verified professionals who have welcomed the opportunity to offer their time to deliver their experience and expertise. We operate from a unique position by working with the Black community at a lower cost rate, thereby supporting those who might not be able to access therapy or cannot wait for support from other providers.

The Team has provided support to individuals who have specific needs. We work with a variety of issues including childhood abuse, trauma and depression; domestic violence and abuse as well as those impacted by redundancy, stress at work, health issues and more. As professionals,  we know that the elements you want to explore do not arrive in neat units and we will work alongside you to support the whole package - which is you.

Member organisations *

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
