Throughout our lives there can be times when we feel overwhelmed and wonder how we got to that place for a whole range of reasons.
As a Registered MBACP Counsellor, I am professionally trained to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore what is important to you. I work with clients on issues that are causing stress and anxiety in their present life.
I am an experienced warm empathic practitioner who will work with you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and how to manage the difficulties you may be facing.
Counselling enhances self-awareness and from that the opportunity to allow new possibilities to emerge and changes to take place leading to a happier and more fulfilling life.
Issues I frequently work with include depression, anxiety with panic atttacks, stress, bereavement, loss, grief, relationship problems, changes due to changes in health and wellbeing. I also work with life transition e.g. becoming a new parent, relocation to a new area, career or work situations and students entering University life.
When dealing with complex distressing issues in life, they can be difficult to express to friends and family; our work will help you move towards accepting and supporting yourself without fear of judgement.
I am Integratively trained, which means I use the most appropriate counselling skills to suit your individual needs.
I have worked professionally in GP Practices, Hospitals and Community Health settings as Counsellor, Coach, Clinician ( Advanced Nurse Specialist in Oncology and Midwife) and Clinical Supervisor. As well as my private practice, I work as a Bereavement Support Counsellor in a Local Hospice as well as facilitating Cancer Support Groups for women with secondary breast cancer.
My Calm Studio is based in Mid Devon between Cullompton and Exeter. I am easily accessible via Tiverton, Honiton, Pinhoe and Broadclyst here in Mid Devon as well as Wellington and Taunton in Somerset.
As a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), I adhere to their Code of Ethics, confidentiality and good practice. I have regular Supervision to support my practice and I attend regular professional development and training.
