It takes courage to see a counsellor for the first time, especially when you are going through a challenging period in your life.
As an experienced counsellor, I offer a calm, professional, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to explore what is important to you.
Counselling enhances self-awareness and from that the opportunity to allow new possibilities to emerge and changes to take place leading to a happier and more fulfilling life.
I am Integratively trained, which means I use the most appropriate counselling skills to suit your individual needs.
Issues I work with include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, bereavement, loss, grief and unhealthy relationships. I am experienced in dealing with life transitions related to issues such as health, relationships, divorce, separation, menopause, becoming a new parent, retirement, relocation to a new area, career or work situations etc.
I have experience of working with university students who are experiencing stress related to their new life and integration into their community.
As a professional I have many years of experience working within clinical management and womens health. I have gained insight into the impact of conditons such as infertility, loss and cancer in relationships and families.
Depression can sometimes be an issue for clients, learning to understand how that impacts on your life can be empowering as well as developing insight and strategies to manage it.
When dealing with complex issues in life, they can be difficult to express to friends and family; our work will help you move towards accepting and supporting yourself without fear of judgement.
As a mindfulness practitioner I have a range of relaxation exercises, which clients can access at any time during our work.
