About me
Recognising we might need help and support in everyday life can be difficult, and when we do, finding the right support may seem daunting. You have already taken the first step and shown awareness and courage by exploring these pages.
You may have arrived here feeling like you are in crisis or conflict with either yourself or others. You may be feeling stuck possibly knowing exactly what you want to change, or simply knowing you just want things to be different - sometimes we just don’t know.
You may have had counselling before, you may not. Regardless, you are likely to have some expectations and possibly fears. I offer a non-judgmental, confidential therapeutic space, working relationally, for us to explore together whatever challenges you may be facing. I believe we are able to address our confusions or conflicts through being in relationship and working together which in turn provides the possibility of change and growth.
I offer short, medium and open-ended longer-term therapy on a weekly basis, both face to face and online via Zoom. I work with both individuals and couples.
About me and my approach to counselling
I am trained in Transactional Analysis which for me emphasises that each and every one of us is intrinsically good, of worth and are looking to improve our lives; we all have the capacity to think for ourselves and we all have the power to change and grow, with a focus on exploring and embracing new possibilities.
I have a contractual approach to therapy which I believe enables us to work together towards your goals of change and growth. This approach allows us to focus on what you want to explore and also facilitates open and honest communication between us: our relationship being an important part of our shared journey together in therapy.
Alongside my Private Practice, I continue in my role as Volunteer Counsellor at West Kent Mind. I am also part of the therapeutic team working with groups at Kenward Trust - a local drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre. In the past I worked for several years as a Volunteer Bereavement Counsellor at Hospice in the Weald. This broad experience enables me to with a wide range of clients with varying presentations and life experiences. I have a particular interest in working with stress and anxiety, depression, trauma and bereavement and loss.
My own personal life experience including working in small businesses and larger corporates, alongside being part of and raising a family provides me with an understanding of the day to day issues life may present us with.

Additional information
I work from my private practice in Hever, Kent providing both face to face and online sessions via Zoom.
I offer a free, brief initial confidential telephone consultation session. Should you then wish to work together, my session fee is £60 for a 50 minute, individual session and £75 for a one hour couple session
This initial consultation will provide the opportunity for us to explore together what might be going on for you, work out whether we are the right fit for each other and/or whether a referral to another colleague may be more suitable. We can also explore your expectations of therapy and we can discuss what length of therapy may best suit. Of course, there is always flexibility and fluidity – especially when we are embracing change.
