Counselling and Supervision MBACP Accredited and Registered

About me

A professional Counselling/Psychotherapy and Supervision service for adults and Counselling students with an experienced Counsellor and Supervisor, working sensitively and effectively with a wide range of issues both online and face to face from a quiet location between Chichester and Arundel.  I specialise in working with anxiety, depression, stress, menopause and relational issues.

I am a Bacp (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered and accredited counsellor with over 20 years of experience counselling clients in many settings.

I offer a warm, confidential, accepting and safe space in which a client can talk freely and openly about themselves and their issues with support, and without judgement. Counselling is sought for many different reasons and can be used in different ways to explore our human suffering in the different forms it comes, or it can used be to facilitate self discovery, personal and spiritual development, it is often a mix.

Counselling can help us to gain connection with ourselves, others and the environment. It helps us clarify things, find solutions, understand ourselves and situations better, increase confidence, identify resources and strengths and see things from a wider and deeper perspective. Of course it can be challenging at times but the healthy therapeutic journey is always interesting, inspiring and beneficial.

As a Humanistic and Transpersonal counsellor I regard awareness of ourselves and the bigger picture of our lives, and the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client to be central to the growth, healing and change that emerges from the work. I work with what the client wants to explore in the session and offer a wide variety of techniques from many counselling models.

I have practiced meditation for over 30 years, and the awareness that I have gained from this naturally underpins my work. If we are fully rooted in and give attention to the natural functioning of Awareness within us then we have a refuge, a place to rest within, whatever may be going on for us in the realm of thought, feeling, relationship and circumstance.

If you would like to make an appointment with me please contact me via email or telephone or email. I will usually respond within 24 hours. We will arrange an initial session (I offer a free half hour meeting session) which will give us an opportunity to meet and to discuss your needs from Counselling or Supervision and also ask any questions, you are then free to decide if it feels right for us to work together and if you would like to book further sessions with me. The sessions can be short term (working in a solution focussed way) or open ended, this will be discussed and decided upon at the initial session and open to review as we proceed.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I hope to hear from you soon.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
