About me

Hi, I'm Ali. I am a relational integrative counsellor. All this means is that I am able to draw on a blend of therapeutic techniques, to offer an experience of counselling that is helpful, and suits you as an individual.  At the heart of my work is a hope that I can offer a warm, open and safe counselling relationship that allows you to speak freely about your thoughts, feelings and emotions.

You may have a specific reason for seeking counselling and a clear idea of what you would like to achieve. Equally, it is ok if you are uncertain.  You might have a general sense of unhappiness or unease and would like some help in exploring why that might be.

I am particularly drawn towards helping those who have experienced a difficult, troubled or traumatic childhood. These experiences can have a lasting and sometimes devastating impact on our life and relationships. They can show up in our adult lives as depression, anxiety, low self-worth, addiction, self-harm, feelings of isolation and difference and difficulty in forming and maintaining relationships that are important to us.

I work with the utmost sensitivity, kindness and care to help you understand and come to terms with your experience, so you feel able to live the life you choose with a sense of wellbeing and purpose.

Further information

Feeling comfortable with your counsellor, and establishing a warm connection is so important, and will make all the difference to your experience of counselling. For this reason, I offer an introductory session at a reduced fee of £25 so you can experience the feel of a counselling session and we can both get a sense of whether we can work well together.

I am able to offer both short and long-term sessions, usually between the hours of 8.30AM and 6.30PM, Monday to Friday. Sessions are normally held weekly at 60 minutes per session in a private, welcoming room.

I am a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy therefore I adhere to their ethical codes and standards of practice. I have regular supervision to help ensure I am working safely and competently, alongside a regular programme of Continuous professional development that keeps my skills fresh and my knowledge of new developments and findings within my profession current.
