About me
My private counselling practice has been in existence for 18 years. My clinical experience includes working with people suffering from a variety of issues which include low self-esteem, feelings associated with trauma, those with depression, anxiety.
I have helped many individuals deal with anxiety and Panic, helping them find strategies and resolution.
I have supported people suffering loss, separation, ill health and bereavement. Those that have experienced childhood abuse are often seeking therapy to find closure. I offer support for those going through divorce and relationship breakups helping individuals move on in life.
20 years of counselling practice has given me the opportunity to assist many people. The service on offer is both professional and ethical.
I also work part-time as the Counselling manager of a large youth counselling organisation. I am responsible for providing counselling services for a number of establishments managing both volunteers and qualified counsellors.
I have been involved with training workshops and organising conferences for those interested in topics such as domestic violence, anger management and working creatively within therapy. I offer one to one sessions. I am a qualified supervisor and deliver training courses.
The first meeting is an opportunity to share information in terms of what I can offer and what clients are hoping to achieve. I can offer short term counselling or open-ended contracts that are regularly evaluated.
Working from a person-centred perspective I believe in the quality of the therapeutic relationship to help a person gain clarity and insight into their problems. My counselling approach offers a safe, empathic environment to explore personal issues without feeling judged.
My training also reflects the importance of past relationships and experience that Have an impact on our self-esteem. Counselling can challenge a person's idea about who they are and allow individuals to discover their true selves.
The sessions will be a chance to explore, clarify and gain insight into personal problems, in order for you to challenge or come to terms with factors that are making you unhappy with your life.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
