About me
As a counsellor I believe that we all have within us, the ability to heal ourselves. My role as a therapist is to help facilitate your own healing process and to provide you with tools and strategies to continue that process outside of therapy.
Specialist areas
I specialise in working with attachment, loss and relationships which affect us all in so many different ways such as anxiety, depression, grief, family issues, conflict, parenting, stress, trauma, self esteem and confidence, personal issues, narcissistic and toxic relationships, unwanted behaviours and work challenges, with significant and often debilitating consequences which make it difficult for us to make sense of things or to move forward in our lives.
Professional Credentials
I'm a fully insured registered member of the British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists and an Accredited member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Service and as such I abide by their ethical frameworks. I am also a registered Attachment Lead, Advanced Mental health practitioner and Clinical Trauma Practitioner. I have been working with adults, young people and families to support their emotional mental health and well being for the last 10 years.
I continually update my skills and knowledge with regular training and continued professional development so I can support my clients in the best most effective way possible.
What you can expect from me?
I am passionate about my work, I love helping people to explore their challenges and empower them to find new solutions in order to live more fulfilling lives. You will find me friendly, open-minded and non-judgemental. I have the utmost respect for your individuality and life circumstances. I have an equal working partnership with my clients and will help you to explore and develop different perspectives, make sense of your problems and achieve the outcomes you’re striving for.
We will focus on what is important for you in sessions. You are the expert on your life and you know which areas you would like to focus on. There is no pressure to discuss anything you would prefer not to talk about or don't feel ready to in sessions and the therapy will go at your pace and in the direction you feel it needs to be. We will work in a way that feels comfortable and effective for you and we will review our work regularly to ensure that we are on the right track.
My style of counselling is warm, informal and professional and includes being person-centred so I adjust my practice according to what you need, providing a safe, confidential, supportive and empathetic service.
Free no obligation assessment session
I offer a free no obligation initial 20 minute telephone consultation where we can get to know each other, discuss the challenges that bring you to therapy, and you can get an idea of whether I would be a good fit for you. Its really important for counselling to be effective that you feel comfortable and at ease with your counsellor. I can answer any questions that you may have about counselling and what is involved.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
