About me

Are you ready for change??

Individual Private  Therapy f2f or online is available for you, session details are below I am based in Ulverston Cumbria.

I am a registered member of 'The British Association  Counselling Society' for counsellors and psychotherapists.

tracyeman@live.co.uk  07904466607.

My journey as a counsellor  began 13 years ago after working within the NHS and Health and Social health care sector for over 25yrs, my role included working for people with physical and learning difficulties.  As a therapist my skills, roles in employment training and personal life experiences have supported me to connect with people from all walks of life.

My choice to support others struggling with their life journeys  has been a strong vocation.  Understanding how Mental Health can destroy, challenge and exhaust a persons fight is something we need to manage as a society together instead of ignoring it. If you are struggling with maintaining your mental health or have issues and you would lke to explore with greater understanding maybe counselling could help you manage this.

Maintenance of our mental health

Its vital to support a healthy body and mind,  without it, any difficult life experiences can impact upon us at any point in time and halt a general outlook negatively.  choosing to engage with a therapist can offer a chance to learn how to manage your issues independently as it will be aimed at offering  empowerment and an greater understanding of what is happening to your body's natural powerful reactions to distress, anxiety or panic.

Negative life experiences  can shape our outlook and change our perspectives over time if we don't acknowledge them.

The key takeaways from therapy are that :-

  1. It offers an opportunity  to work on any core wounds, emotional or psychological injuries that may stem from child or adult experiences.
  2. Core wounds can shape our beliefs, behaviours and emotions, and attachments to others often leading to negative patterns and struggles with self-esteem, managing relationships or working life.
  3. Healing from core wounds is possible through various techniques and self-care practices, which could help halt exhausting patterns of behaviour that leads to a feeling of being overwhelmed or an 'out of control'  When this happens, a person may seek out unhealthy coping mechanisms in order to cope and keep going, or even shut down and withdraw from life which can halt our connections to others and take away our general happiness.

Clients  report many reasons for feeling distressed, lost, or stuck in some way or seek emotional healing to restore balance into their lives. All worries  affecting your life are valid and deserve recognition so that you can manage proactive change for resolve.

What is Counselling? what can I expect?

Engaging within therapy helps you explore options for understanding, healing  and moving forward with your own life to the best of your ability to face the future. It can offer you a chance to gain more self awareness of yourself and others and an opportunity to forge a new path if wanted with healthier 'informed choices with a set of new skills to regain control leading you away from feeling stuck.

'The goal of sessions will be to enable you to unravel any persistent issues and manage a way forward'

What to expect and what's next?

  •  I will always offer a confidential, friendly, non-judgmental, and safe environment, where you can talk freely and openly about what it is that has brought you to this point in your life.
  • When you contact me I will offer a free initial short call which will give us a chance to see if we would feel comfortable to work together and for us to decide if counselling is the best option for you. Part of the call will also be to decide how you want to take your sessions, either face to face or remotely-video calling or telephone means.

"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." V. FRANKL
