About me

Let me take a moment to introduce who I am and what it is I do. I'm a qualified integrative counsellor, who is committed to working with you over a period of time to help you better understand yourself, your emotions and goals. I aim to provide a counselling service that is accessible to everyone. If you are feeling overwhelmed, troubled or unable to cope - for whatever reason, I may be able to help and support.

I am completely impartial in my approach and will openly and empathetically listen to you. Our environment is safe, non-discriminative and confidential, so you may explore your troubles without burden or fear of being judged.

Together we can unravel your experiences to help you understand your deep-rooted feelings and empower you to resolve them. You are unique and my approach is personalised to suit you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, having worked for a number of years with bereaved clients. I have extensive experience of supporting adults who have survived rape, sexual abuse, domestic and emotional trauma, as well, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, self harm and terminal illness diagnosis.

I am also a trained Supervisor, currently supporting a number of counsellors working within private practice and charitable organisations.

I am a certified online and telephone counsellor.

I am registered with the ICO and hold an enhanced DBS.

NCPS

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
