Susan Reilly, Dip Co, MBACP, GHR
Currently, my client base and specific specialism is in alleviating and developing coping strategies to tackle and eradicate anxiety. Through exploration and a deeper understanding, together (key word) we can diminish that overwhelming crux that can plague lives. This can be in anything but tends to be in relationships, work, self esteem, and overall well being. I work with adults as well as children, anxiety has no age limit.
I’m an Integrative Counsellor and clinical hypnotherapist. Meaning I’m trained in many different models of therapy that enable me to tailor my approach to meet your individual needs. I offer a safe, confidential and empathetic space where you can explore whatever has brought you here.
It is likely that you are taking the first steps in looking for a therapist. Most of us don’t realise how much we’re struggling until we reach a critical juncture, so recognising the need for some support, in whatever form that may take, is a crucial first step. Whether you have something specific on your mind, or just a sense that now is the right time, finding the right therapist for you is incredibly important and it can sometimes take a little while to find the right person.
Our initial session would give you a chance to see how you feel about us working together and to make sure that I’m able to offer you the best possible support, if you feel it’s not for you that’s totally fine, no commitment required you are free to do what’s right for you.
I have worked a lot with clients presenting with anxiety - in its many forms. This may be pervasive feelings of generalised anxiety or anxiety around particular experiences - such as social anxiety, for instance. I have found that a combination of exploring the history and possible causes of the anxiety coupled with some light clinical hypnosis, changing those habitual patterns, can be extremely effective in promoting growth and positive change.
If you are feeling anxious, angry, depressed or having difficulties in your relationship? If right now life's events seem overwhelming, having a place to be heard, supported and understood may help. Or perhaps you're unable to put your finger on what is wrong but just feel that something is, then you may find delving into therapy can help to make sense of an issue.
Maybe you're having issues in your relationship or marriage and struggling to communicate effectively with your partner, and need a safe place in which to listen, talk and be heard
I offer confidential, non-judgmental therapy in a non-discriminatory practice for both individuals and couples. I deliver it in a relational style. For therapy to be a success, I believe a good therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is essential, which requires commitment from both client(s) and therapist.
Having worked with many different individuals and couples, I have experience with issues including abuse, anger, addiction, anxiety depression, bereavement, eating disorders, identity issues, relationship issues, low self-esteem and low self-confidence, to name but a few.
The first step to gaining your autonomy back is to admit you may require a little help, why not try.
