About me

As a therapist, my goal is to help you learn more about yourself in order to live with more clarity and thereby to better your life.

I am an Integrative counsellor psychotherapist accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I work with adolescents, young adults (18-25-year-olds), and adults on a weekly basis. I have worked in private practice and in educational settings for over 10 years.

I provide a confidential and non-judgmental space which can help your self-exploration. I speak English and Italian and I can work in both languages.

How I can help you

My approach to psychotherapy is  non-directive and aims at helping you discover more about yourself and explore unconscious aspects of your behaviour, thoughts and emotions. I believe that psychotherapy is a growing process that comes about through the unique therapeutic relationship between therapist and patient. My dual psychotherapy training in Person-centred and Psychodynamic therapy is reflected in my way of working: exploring the narratives that emerge in your life, and conveying an accurate understanding of your experience; seeking meaning of current conflicts through making connections between your past and present; enhancing your self-awareness. Developing a better understanding of yourself might help you manage your emotions beyond the therapeutic space and move towards change.

Issues I can help you with

I offer both short and long-term therapy for a variety of issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, eating disorders, self-harm, compulsive behaviours, gender identity disorders. When working with adolescents, I regularly offer parent consultations. When a team approach is needed, I work in liaison with GPs, psychiatrists and other colleagues to best support you.

Initial consultation

A first session with me carries no obligation to begin therapy but offers an opportunity to explore what psychotherapy can be like and how it could help. I find it works well to have at least two meetings at the outset, to allow time to conduct an assessment and pay careful attention to what would be most helpful for your and to plan accordingly.

Please call me on 07523 550561 or email me and we can discuss how I can support you. There is no obligation to book an initial session. I offer a brief telephone consultation free of charge.

I work both in person and online when that is more convenient.

I have full indemnity insurance and I am DBS checked.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
