About me

I understand building trust with someone professionally can be daunting, but I aim to be patient and respectful in my approach delivering a safe and nurturing space for us to work together. I work compassionately to resolve challenges you are faced with to support and enhance your healing journey.  When working with early development, I may use creative and visual methods to enhance your experience as well as help you navigate and explore emotions, feelings and thoughts that may have not always been easy to access.

I specialise in areas such as low self-esteem and childhood trauma and work diligently to understand your life history, views, values and beliefs. I work with early development, attachment and behavioural patterns to heal any past narratives or distortions by offering a positive reparative relationship to release trauma or to understand reoccurring patterns or themes from childhood.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP). I have a BSc (Hons) in Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling graduating from Staffordshire University - My training was facilitated through Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI).

In addition to my private practice, I also work alongside a registered charity for over a few years offering counselling to a diverse group of clients. My experience includes working with neurodivergent clients, trauma, relationship difficulties, identity issues, sexuality, childhood trauma, anxiety and grief.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I offer professional support in working with early childhood relational issues, shame and trauma as well as consistent mental health issues. I have worked with clients who have been sexually abused, experienced loss and are having relationship struggles by exploring and repairing self-esteem and dysfunctions in relationships.

Through my experience and knowledge, I specialise in working with attachment by exploring unmet childhood relational needs and childhood trauma and how that may impact your relationships with others and with yourself in order to find your true self.
