About me

Seeking help can feel daunting, especially if it means sharing your private thoughts and feelings with a stranger. As a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Coach, I am committed to ensuring you feel heard and understood, without being judged in any way.  I  hope our sessions help you to obtain that inner peace and resolution to succeed and manage life when times are full of uncertainty.

I am highly experienced in counselling and coaching people from all age groups and varying problems like anxiety, abuse, stress, panic attacks. illness, relationship problems and worry over uncertainty and change. A large part of my experience comes from working with young adults suffering a spectrum of emotional problems in a college and university centre. I have extensive  experience in grief and bereavement counselling, having volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Care.

Working together we can unravel the emotional turmoil creating discomfort in your life, and find solution focused ways to manage life as you move forward into a brighter future.

I specialise in:

  • Bereavement, grief and loss(including loss and bereavement due to Covid19)
  • Working with anxiety
  • Panic/anxiety attacks
  • Trauma and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Relationships - family/spouse/workplace
  • Bullying and abuse

I have worked with adults on the autistic spectrum, ADHD and Asperger,  helping them come to terms with adulthood, relationships and work.

Through my career I realised that once my clients had resolved some of their emotional issues, they still felt 'stuck' and unable to move forward in their lives, needing further specialist help. This realisation made me embark on the coaching route and I found a course that combined counselling and coaching together to give clients the full benefit of both.  This enabled me to help clients using solution focused techniques to resolve personal and emotional problems but also plan and move forward in their careers, relationships and ambitions.

My experience of the fusion of counselling and coaching has enabled me to achieve positive results in my work, particularly surrounding anxiety, which can paralyse people to a standstill impacting all aspects of their lives, particularly in educational settings, challenging jobs and difficult relationships.

I am presently quite flexible with appointments during weekdays and evenings.

How Counselling with me can help you

Loss of loved ones, illness and trauma through abuse or bullying can leave you feeling unable to cope, angry and unable to face your responsibilities and a life without your loved one. During the Coronavirus pandemic things have been really difficult, especially when you are unable to hold and be with your loved one in their last moments.  Not being able to say 'Goodbye' the way you would have liked to, and having a funeral service that did not reflect the uniqueness of your loved one. Together we can explore and work out steps you can take to get your life back together, to pay homage to your loved one, use strategies to address the trauma and put things into perspective.

Feeling stuck and unable to find a way out, trying to deal with change and uncertainty can often lead to people developing anxieties, stress and other mental health concerns which start to impact them in such a way that life becomes difficult to bear. We can explore coping mechanisms as well as curing anxiety by employing scientific evidence based strategies.

Working with me will enable you to tackle these problems and so much more, enabling you to achieve your true potential. Remember it is our thoughts that place limitations on our beliefs and ambitions, if we can change these thoughts we can become limitless in our potential!
