About me

Our lives can often feel challenging. You may be struggling right now, have faced emotional difficulties for a long time, or would just like to understand how to live a richer life.

It takes courage to seek out support, but counselling and psychotherapy can help you so that you don’t have to manage on your own.

Together we would look at what’s going on in your life and what you want for yourself. You may be looking to explore uncertainties about your future, communication in relationships, difficult decisions or transitions, or questions about identity. Sometimes this involves exploring your past experiences to understand how they could be contributing to your current feelings or behaviour, whereas some people prefer to focus on the here and now.

Whatever your process, I provide a warm and grounded space - a trusting therapeutic relationship is central to my approach. This opportunity often allows people to discover their emotional world and strengthens self-awareness. It’s from this knowledge that you can seize on your own capacity to heal or grow.

As an integrative therapist, I draw on person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, and deliberately use elements from other theories - I am led by you and tailor my approach to suit your needs and what feels natural to you.

I have experience across a range of mental health settings, including in a charity for people with suicidal thoughts, delivering trauma-informed therapy for people living with HIV, and as a health and wellbeing coach within the NHS.

I work with people from all walks of life, whatever their age, race, ethnicity, cultural heritage, socioeconomic background, gender identity or sexuality.

I offer an initial free 15-minute call to explore how we would work together and to see if we’re a good fit. This is also a chance for you to ask any questions about the process, with no expectation or obligation to continue sessions together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
