About me
I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years experience of working with individuals with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, addictions, abuse and low self-esteem. I draw upon a number of evidence-based models to ensure I support people in the most effective way.
I use a range of therapeutic models (EMDR, schema therapy, CBT, ACT, dialectical behaviour therapy, mindfulness based cognitive therapy) to help people in a way that suits them and can enable them to make timely progress on their therapy goals.
I am flexible in offering short or longer term therapy based on individual needs, preferences and finances. I offer daytime and evening sessions in a lovely rural setting with designated parking. Situated close to Haslemere and a short drive from Midhurst, Chichester, Godalming and other areas within West Sussex, Hampshire & Surrey.
I also offer sessions via video call. Online therapy offers greater flexibility and has been shown in research to be as effective as face to face.
I am registered with BUPA, Aviva, WPA, Cigna and Overland Health Insurers.
Recent client feedback includes:
"I would recommend you to anyone"
"You have helped me to understand something that was beyond my comprehension.....You have changed my life"
Training, qualifications & experience
I have the following formal qualifications:
- BSc (Hons) Behavioural Sciences (1993)
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (2000)
- MSc Personality Disorders (2017)
I have also engaged in further training over the course of my career, including the following
- Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Schema therapy
- Mindfulness
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Motivational Interviewing
Before focusing solely on private practice, I also worked for the NHS, where alongside clinical work I supervised other psychologists, led and developed services and trained psychologists and other staff.
I also consult and offer training to businesses and organisations, having worked with some of the top IT and consulting firms.
As well as being registered with the HCPC, I am also Chartered with the British Psychological Society and an Associate Fellow. I am also an accredited EMDR Therapist.
I have had several publications in peer-reviewed academic journals in the areas of shame, eating disorders, personality disorders and staff support and written a book on Coping with the Emotional Impact of Breast Cancer.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information
Please contact me via email to arrange a free telephone consultation. We can talk a little about the issues you are facing, how you have found any previous therapy and I can explain how I work. If I am unable to help, I will let you know whether one of my associates can, or where else you may be able to find the help you need. This will enable you to have a plan for finding a way to improve your wellbeing.
