Supervision details
I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2000, worked in mental health and addiction services within the NHS and am now solely in private practice. I draw from a range of approaches including CBT, schema focused therapy, DBT, ACT, EMDR and mindfulness. I aim to be warm, approachable and non-judgemental, allowing a safe space to explore different ways of formulating and working.
As a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Head of an NHS Psychology & Psychotherapy department, I am very experienced in supervising therapy staff. I am also skilled at coaching and mentoring psychologists in order to help people to progress in their personal and career development. I also work with businesses and organisations in relation to employee wellbeing. I have been a Director for the Association of Clinical Psychologists and continue to work with them on a consultancy basis.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
