About me

Hi, I’m Sara  سارا

I'm a Gestalt Counsellor (MBACP) working in Shoreditch (EC2A) and online.

You may be reaching out because you're experiencing low-mood, anxiety or have a vague feeling something isn't feel right. I'm here to support you through towards a more happy, vibrant and meaningful life.

For me, therapy is a moment to reflect and explore what is and isn’t working for you and how to get more of what you want. I became a therapist as I felt there was something profoundly healing and transformative about therapy, which supported changes in myself, my relationships and my environment.

I hold a space for us to explore together. I feel having a companion whilst experiencing difficulties can be a new experience for some and profoundly healing.

"Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation"-  bell hooks

Some examples of what people bring to therapy:

  • You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, have low self-esteem, or finding yourself in unfulfilling, similar scenarios/relationships
  • You may be wanting support for something challenging upcoming or want to explore something that has affected you in the past
  • You may feel something is holding you back
  • Have a general feeling something isn't right

I believe our behaviour, thoughts and feelings hold important information about how we navigate in the world and what we are needing more of. When you are aware of this you have more choice.

How I work:
I work in a Gestalt modality, which means I attentively focus on your immediate experience whilst working with you (this also includes memories and experiences that come up about your past). I believe our experience in our body is important information about how we really are. Exploring this with support can show glimmers into what we’re needing-which then allows potential change.

I have a background in education, music performance and performance recovery, so I am experienced with bodywork, grounding and the pressure around work/life balance. I like to think because of these experiences, I work creatively with clients!

Next steps:
I offer an initial free 15-minute Google Meet session to see how we might work together and how I can best support you. This is a meeting to see if you feel you are ready for therapy and whether you want to work with me. Feel free to get in contact with any questions!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
