About me

A warm welcome to my profile.  Counselling with me will be your opportunity to explore the difficulties that you are experiencing and together we can explore ways to help you through your turbulent times.  I listen empathically whilst offering you the tools, techniques and resources to enable you to move forward with your life.

Counselling is your time to off load your troubles and reassess your life.  Sometimes we just need that hour each week where we can talk openly and honestly, without fear of judgement, about things that are bothering us.  Everything is welcome here.

I can help you with changing habits, anxiety issues, boundaries and conflicts, relationship fears, work and life balance and much much more.  Many of my previous clients have been grateful that they have found a way through the issues that have made them feel 'stuck' for many years.

I will help you move towards the changes that you need. I have spent the last four years working with a range of clients whose issues range from anxiety, eating disorders, depression, substance abuse, self harm and trauma.

I know from experience how difficult life can be, I know just how much effort it takes sometimes to keep on trying. I will help you to empower yourself to make wise, clear decisions and give you strategies to deal with your problems.

Training, qualifications & experience

I use different therapies in my practice and always revise how I work best to suit each client. I ensure my clients are given resources and skills to take away with them.  The tools that I provide will be suited to your specific needs to help to empower you, and help you to grow and change. I may use interventions from mindfulness and relaxation, CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy, Gestalt techniques.

  • PGDip in Integrative Counselling and psychotherapy
  • Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP)
  • Fully insured and DBS checked
  • Regular ongoing supervision

I also have experience in and have worked with a range of issues both in voluntary organisations and in private practice. I abide by the BACP's code of ethics, and I am constantly updating my CPD (career professional development).

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
