What to expect from counselling.
I understand that counselling can seem like a huge step to take. I work integratively which means that I work in a way that will best suit your needs. This may be a combination of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, mindfulness and relaxation or more visual, Emotion Focused Therapy. You are in the drivers seat with this.
I can offer reassurance that you can come to me whenever suits you. This may be weekly, fortnightly or monthly. When you first make contact, either via phone, text or email, we can briefly discuss the most important issues for you.
I provide confidential counselling in a tranquil and safe environment. Counselling with me will be your time away from the pressures of the world around you. It is your chance to explore yourself and the difficulties that you are experiencing. Along with my help we can untangle your thoughts so that you can begin to make sense of your problems. I offer warmth and empathic understanding so that you can feel secure enough to share your problems.
I have experience in and have worked with a range of issues both in voluntary organisations and in private practice. I specialise in domestic and emotional abuse. Other issues that I work with include but are not limited to:
- Eating disorders
I understand from personal experience that life can be a struggle. Life throws us many challenges. My combined personal experience and professional experience will help you in your struggles. I will help you move towards the changes that you need.
