About me

Hello there, I am a Muslim Therapist with vast experience of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities, registered as a BACP Therapist and abide by their ethical guidelines. I work with young people (16+) and adults who are experiencing a range of issues including relationships, trauma, abuse, identity, depression, anxiety, bereavement, loss, domestic abuse and difficulties associated with self-confidence and self-esteem.

Life can sometimes be challenging with its setbacks, traumas and tragedies, and these can impact us in many ways.  I can support you, to feel at ease, by providing a warm, non-judgemental and supportive space where you feel accepted and heard to work towards your desired outcomes.

Therapy with me will provide a safe and confidential space, where together, we can safely explore the difficulties you are experiencing relating to the aspects of your life you choose to work on.

How can I help you?

My approach is to work alongside you to guide you to a better understanding of your situation, this may include exploring how past events are impacting you in the present as well as helping you to develop useful coping strategies to manage thoughts, feelings or behaviours.

I provide my clients with an authentic therapeutic space that is unique to them and their individual needs by integrating various therapeutic approaches and techniques and drawing on my training and experience. Most importantly building a good therapeutic relationship with my clients based on trust and mutual respect is key to my practice.

I will work collaboratively with you, by agreeing how we will work together, by respecting your right to make your own decisions and empowering you to safely explore aspects of your life, past or present at your own pace.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
