About me
Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from carrying too much on your own?
You may be overthinking, people-pleasing, masking, grieving, recovering from trauma, or wondering why life feels harder than it seems to for others. Perhaps you feel as though you have spent years trying to cope, fit in, or hold everything together, but inside you feel tired, disconnected, or unsure who you really are anymore.
Counselling can offer you a space to pause, breathe, and begin to make sense of what is happening for you.
I offer warm, compassionate counselling in Chorley and online across the UK. My work is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming, which means I will not try to force you into a one-size-fits-all way of working. Instead, we work together at your pace, in a way that respects your needs, your communication style, and your way of experiencing the world.
Together, we can work towards helping you feel calmer and less overwhelmed, understand yourself more deeply, process painful experiences at a pace that feels manageable, build confidence and self-trust, recognise patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and find ways to be more fully yourself.
I know therapy can feel daunting, especially if you have felt misunderstood, judged, dismissed, or as though you have had to hide parts of yourself. My aim is to offer a space where you feel heard, accepted, and supported, without pressure to be anything other than who you are.
I originally trained in person-centred counselling and now work integratively, drawing on compassion-focused approaches, mindfulness, grounding, psychoeducation, CBT-informed strategies, EMDR and other gentle therapeutic tools where helpful.
I have experience supporting people with anxiety, trauma, bereavement, suicide bereavement, neurodivergence, self-esteem, identity, overwhelm, burnout and emotional exhaustion. I also understand that many people come to therapy not knowing exactly what is wrong — only that something feels too much, too heavy, or no longer manageable.
Sessions are available in person from Chorley/Adlington, within easy reach of Preston, Bolton, Horwich and Wigan, as well as online or by telephone across the UK. I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling, depending on what you need.
If you are looking for a counsellor who will work gently, collaboratively and respectfully with you, I would be happy to hear from you. There’s no pressure — just a chance to ask any questions you may have.
NOTE - emails from me sometimes end up in the spam/junk folder so please check in there
I charge £60 per session which can be paid by card, bank transfer or cash.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
