About me

I am an experienced integrative counsellor, using both person-centred and psychodynamic theory. Together we may be able to gain insight into your past experiences and how these might be affecting your present. Whilst valuing your capacity and desire to change and grow.

Therapy can help you deal with emotional distress and difficult decisions, all whilst developing self-acceptance and understanding.

You do not have to be in a mental health crisis to access therapy, it can be for everyone.

I provide a confidential, private and peaceful space for you to explore your world, past and present.

I believe that by building a strong, trusting and therapeutic relationship, I can help you feel heard and accepted, allowing you the space to process the issues you may be struggling with.

I work with people struggling with a variety of issues including:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Bereavement, loss and life transitions
  • Relationship difficulties and family problems
  • Trauma and abuse
  • Low self-esteem or confidence
  • Stress and work related issues
  • Difficulties coping with emotions

I work with individual adults on a one-to-one basis either face-to-face or online.

Each session is 50 minutes, at the same time each week.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications include a degree in Psychology, a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and further training working with Young People and those in crisis.

I have worked with adults across the area as a volunteer counsellor with Cotswold Counselling since 2019. I have helped clients struggling with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma and bereavement.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I offer an initial 30 minute consultation.

This will allow us a chance to get to know each other, talk about what you need help with, and for you to ask me any questions about me and what our work together will look like.

From here we will be able to decide if we want to work together.

Feel free to call or email to arrange an initial consultation.

Concessionary rates are available.

Further information

The first time we meet will be an opportunity for us both to see if we will work well together. This may be a 30 minute consultation appointment which is £25.

It is important that you feel safe and comfortable with me in the space together, equally it is important that I feel I can help you. If there are any doubts from either of us, I can refer you to an associate.

I will explain how our sessions together will work, answer any questions you may have and go through my contract with you.

The first session can be very daunting, it might take a little time to get used to one another and learn how this new and very different relationship can work most effectively so you can get the most out of counselling.
