About me

  • You feel overwhelmed by a past traumatic experience.
  • You have difficulty setting healthy boundaries.
  • Your self-esteem has been eroded in your relationship.
  • Overwhelmed by people-pleasing in relationships.
  • You have lost a loved one and struggling to cope with the pain/loneliness.

If you are wondering how your past experiences are affecting current relationships and how to initiate change, therapy can help you stop worrying, reduce anxiety/depression and stress and give you your life back.

  • Looking for support to navigate and heal from challenges or conflicts you've experienced with your mother?
  • Navigating a difficult breakup or divorce?
  • Feel overwhelmed by the responsibility and can’t see an end in sight?
  • Do you feel unsupported, live for the weekend, and then dread Monday mornings?

Counselling doesn’t have to take a lot of your time. It’s just an hour a week and you can book an online session that fits your schedule and cuts out travel.

Therapy can help you transform your relationships by:

● Talking through relationship problems without fear of judgement - so that you develop the confidence to implement alternative solutions.

● Recognising stressors and their underlying reasons - so that you can develop coping strategies and make different choices.

● Helping you set boundaries and manage other people’s expectations - so that you have more free time to make the most of your life.

I started my private practice because I saw that many people felt that they were trying to break free from toxic relationship cycles but did not know how to deal with the guilt and shame that they felt. They recognised the need for change in their relationships but didn't know where or how to start.

But it’s possible both to regain your identity within your relationship(s) and live a fulfilling life with the right support in place.

I welcome you to come and explore these complex relationships and embark on your journey towards healing and understanding.

About me

With many years experience working for the NHS in the mental health sector, I’ve seen the results of engaging in unhealthy relationships and I understand the exhaustion, hopelessness and anxiety and depression that this causes.

Since retraining as a therapist, I’ve supported dozens of clients to make the changes to their lives that have given them more freedom to be themselves and foster healthier relationships. I’d love to help you too.

I’m a fully qualified and registered counsellor with BACP.

Previous clients have told me that therapy enabled them to find solutions for  stresses in their relationships, rebuilding trust and fostering healthier connections and they’ve felt happier as a result. They were able to stop blaming themselves, slept better at night, began to heal and grow.

So please get in touch to book an introductory call where we can assess whether we’d work well together. I look forward to hearing from you.

It’s perfectly natural to need support from time to time. Understandably, reaching out can be daunting. But just think of it as the first step towards finding the answers that you seek, moving towards a more positive future and being a better you.

I welcome all cultures, genders, ages and identities to my practice.

I meet you where you are at in the process and help support you towards where you want to be.

Don't wait to get the help you need.  Reach out today!

My specialty also encompasses supporting  individuals struggling with loss/grief/bereavement. I have experience working with individuals who have lost loved ones. How counselling can help

Our work together is a collaborative process in which we seek to understand how your past experiences impact your life and work and the feelings you have about yourself. We identify underlying problematic patterns & behaviour and through insight and understanding you will have a choice to ultimately act in a different, healthier way. The goal of treatment is to fully realise your strengths and live a happier, more fulfilling and more rewarding life.

As your therapist, my role is not to fix you, but rather to listen to you with empathy and compassion. I am here to provide fresh perspectives on your struggles, helping you gain a better understanding of yourself and your emotions. Together, we can work on strategies that will enable you to effectively manage your emotions and achieve your goals. You can trust that I will create a supportive environment where you can freely express yourself and feel understood. Your well-being is my utmost priority. I am dedicated to accompanying you on your journey of self-discovery every step of the way.

Free Consultation

Ready to explore how I can support you?

I offer a free, no obligation, 20-minute phone or video call to help you determine if we’re a good fit and what kind of support I can provide. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have and get a sense of how we can work together.

Your Initial Session and Working Agreement

If you decide to proceed, we’ll schedule your initial session. Before that, I’ll send you our Working Agreement, which outlines important details about how we’ll work together, including confidentiality.

What to expect in your first session

During your initial session, we’ll go over the Working Agreement and take the time to understand your history, reasons for seeking therapy, and identify approaches that may work well for you. By the end of this session, it’s important to me that we have agreed upon a way of working that feels comfortable and supportive to you.

Flexible Counselling Tailored to Your Needs

Throughout our sessions, we’ll regularly discuss the number of sessions that may be beneficial for you. You are never tied to a predetermined set of sessions, and we can end when you feel it’s appropriate. However, whenever possible, I encourage having an ending session to ensure a planned and safe conclusion to our therapeutic journey together.

Don’t hesitate to schedule your free 20-minute consultation today. It’s a no-pressure opportunity for us to connect, explore your needs, and discuss how I can provide the support you’re seeking. I’m here to guide you and create a safe and confidential space where you can grow and thrive.

How I work

In our sessions, I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental therapeutic space where we can explore both your present and past issues. I understand that in order to understand your current struggles, it can be helpful to delve into your earliest childhood relationships. That’s why I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to offer a unique and tailored experience for each client. I recognise that every person has different life experiences, and there isn’t a one-size-fits-all counselling approach.

My Approach: Tailored Therapy for Your Unique Needs

During our sessions, I may incorporate different therapeutic approaches based on what will be most beneficial for you.

Some approaches that I may draw upon include; Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), Gestalt Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Mindfulness and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

-------

Relationships are everything.

We are hurt in relationship and we heal in relationship.

I support adult individuals and young people to heal and live fulfilling lives.

I understand that life isn’t always easy. We all experience times of difficulty in our lives, when events or relationships feel overwhelming, or we can feel a loss of direction or purpose. Sometimes, even the strongest people amongst us need a little bit of help to work through some of life’s more challenging problems. Figuring out how to begin to sort through everything can feel scary and overwhelming. The good news is that you do not need to struggle through this alone. I have been supporting individuals with their issues for over 10 years.

It’s perfectly natural to need support from time to time. Understandably, reaching out can be daunting. But just think of it as the first step towards finding the answers that you seek, moving towards a more positive future and being a better you.

The goal of treatment is to fully realise your strengths and live a happier, more fulfilling and more rewarding life.

Additional Experience

In addition to my counselling career, I have worked for many years within the NHS, gaining a deeper understanding of mental health issues and the pressures of demanding environments. I have also volunteered with an organisation offering bereavement aftercare, supporting individuals who have experienced the loss of a loved one. I understand that the healing process following a loss or significant life event requires patience and time.

Working within the NHS Talking Therapies (formerly known as Improving Access to Psychological Therapies, IAPT) has deepened my understanding of mental health issues and the importance of accessible and compassionate care.

I look forward to accompanying you on this journey of self-discovery and growth. Feel free to reach out and start your therapeutic journey today.
