About me

HI I'm Rebecca, Bsc, PGdip, MBACP. MA (reg). I am a qualified psychotherapist. I studied at Leeds Beckett and Birmingham University.

-I offer a safe space to explore, heal and grow. I am inclusive and offer a service that is affirming. I support individuals who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, BPD and PTSD. My practice is idiosyncratic which means the therapy will be suited to your specific needs, you are the expert in your own life!
My aim has been to offer an integrative counselling space that benefits all neuro diversities, being flexible in my approach. I offer an affirming space to clients who have a divergence such as ADHD/ Autism/ Dyspraxia/Dysgraphia/Dyslexia.

I offer an integrative approach which is inclusive of; person centred therapy, transactional analysis, CBT/DBT, psychodynamic therapy, psycho-education, mindfulness, ACT and am continuously building on my knowledge base to offer an informed approach that is in line with current research and methods.

I specialise in supporting you to move away from negative thought processes, whether that be due to a specific situation or due to an ongoing struggle; it can be difficult to process and cope in the world. I promise to create a therapeutic space individual to you, the process will be continuously discussed and agreed upon.

-I also have vast experience working with young people/children with social, emotional and mental health needs; using a combination of behavioural and therapeutic techniques to support the development of coping strategies.

I am now offering BOTH online and face to face counselling!! Please contact me to find out more information.

Face to Face: Wednesdays and Thursdays:
-ADDRESS FOR FACE TO FACE SESSIONS: THE FLEX SPACE, BURLEY HILL LS4 2PU.
Online: Tuesdays and Fridays

I can now offer a full pre diagnostic ADHD screening using a QBtest and pre screeners. The QB test is an objective testing system that measures three symptoms of ADHD; impulsivity, hyper activity and motor activity. These are key indicators that help to form a diagnosis of ADHD. I also offer screeners such as a full sensory profile and a CAT-Q masking test to offer a holistic exploration.
The QBtest is not a diagnosis, only a doctor can diagnose. This sophisticated screening tool can give evidence to support the benefit of moving forward with a full diagnosis and/or offer support suggestions for home/ school in the interim period.
Please contact me for further details.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
