About me

Hi I’m Rachel, I strongly believe that no one should ever feel alone, I’m here to support you through the hardest times of life.

I am a fully trained and qualified counsellor and have experience at counselling all ages with whatever problems they have had  such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm ect. I also specialise in working with SEN children for 7 years and have lots of experience working with neurodivergent individuals. I’ve worked as a school counsellor for ages 11-19 years and I’ve worked with a charity called number 22 counselling services for children, young people and adults.

I work in a person-centred way, this means I believe we naturally want to be the best we can be and grow as a person, with the right conditions this can be achieved. I’m offering a safe and non-judgmental space for you to bring and talk about whatever you feel you need to, this time is all about you.

I have experience working with children/young people from the age of 11, I’ve worked as a school counsellor in a secondary school and worked with Number 22 supporting the after school project for children and young people. I’ve worked in a SEN school for 7 years and have lots of experience with neurodivergent individuals.

I’m offering face to face sessions as well as online and I am based in Chesham town centre.
Im more than happy to consider home visits, this can be discussed .

If you have any questions at all please contact me, I understand it can be a scary time but I'm here to explain in more detail.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
