About me
Hello and thank you for taking a look at my profile.
I'm Rachael, a qualified therapist in the Essex area.
My belief as a therapist:
Therapy is unlearning who we had to be and come home to ourselves; who we were born to be!
I am passionate about creating positive change and providing space for my clients to find their voice amongst the world but more importantly, within themselves. My role is not to give you advice or tell you what to do, but to listen with perspective and empathy, whilst you find the solutions you hold within.
Humanistic in my modality, I work with a wide range of presenting issues from low self-esteem, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Self-harm, Bereavement/Loss, Domestic Violence, Body-Image and relationship difficulties.
Embodying a range of various experience from children, young people and adults within my work has allowed me to become adaptable amongst diverse groups.

I have a variety of experience across the mental health sector where I have worked with a variety of mental health challenges from mild to more severe.
I spent five years working within adult mental health support prior to choosing my pursuit in a counselling career.
I have experience of working within schools with children and young people and working closely with safeguarding leads and social care.
I have spent the last year supporting families and their children as a Children & Young People’s counsellor within Little Havens Children’s Hospice where I worked heavily amongst the area of bereavement and palliative care.
I now work with a wide range of challenges within my private practice.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
