About me

It is quite common for people to feel worried and have reservations about opening up to someone. With the right help and support, we can build a trusting, supportive and professional relationship where you can discuss and explore whatever is right for you.

I work with adults, helping them work through any issues they have, this could include anxiety, depression, stress or any other difficulties, working together to work through concerns. I offer an integrative approach. I tailor the type of therapy that suits you best. This is primarily Person-Centred, but we may draw from aspects of CBT therapy, for example, depending on your requirements. This is due to being aware that, whilst one approach works for one type of person, it doesn’t necessarily work for someone else. Each persons needs are different, not everyone is the same and I understand that.

I place a significant emphasis on helping you gain a deeper understanding of the connections between your thoughts, actions, and emotions, providing you with the necessary tools to manage your mental health concerns effectively over time.

For your therapy to work there needs to be time to build trust and a solid foundation together. This is essential for the therapy to be effective. You are the expert on yourself. I believe that you have the freedom and independence to regulate yourself in order to reach your own full potential.

YOU have the power to change your thoughts and actions. Counselling provides a safe and supportive space to learn and practice new skills for managing difficult feelings and situations in regards to your emotional state and thought process.

I respond to all messages within 48 hours. You might find my email response in your junk/spam folder or you can contact me on 07359 472485 and I will reply as soon as I can. Thank you

Important, if you are in crisis now, please phone 999 or the Samaritans on 116 123

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
